Scouting is voluntary and volunteers are the people who keep it running from week to week. No matter what your skills are, there will be a role for you; it's just a case of finding it and one that suits the time you are able to commit. You can try The Scouts' role finder here, which asks a few simple questions and suggests a role for you.
Our most valuable resource are our volunteers, so for your dedication and hard work, we offer the opportunity to enhance your CV, meet new people, integrate with your community and give something back, as well as having a great time in the process. Scouting is not only about our young people, but also about adult development. To support adults in Scouting, we provide a comprehensive programme of training to build on existing skills and knowledge and develop new competencies. Some elements of training can count towards externally-recognised qualifications, and within the movement, there are awards to recognise dedication to training and outstanding service. You can find out more about our extensive training here.
We are always looking for volunteers, so once you've had a browse of our website, please do get in touch.
These roles work directly with our young people on a weekly basis. They are fantastic fun and extremely rewarding, as well as looking great to prospective employers. You might even be entitled to some volunteering leave from your job! Have a look at the range of section roles.
We are looking for an IT literate individual to provide support and maintain our website, liaising with Section Leaders to provide regular updates and keep the sites current. This role could be done at your convenience - we're grateful for whatever you can offer. I'm interested!
